Our Story
RestNTravel is the flagship sleep and wellness line from NatureTech SimpleInventions Pvt. Ltd. (NSPL), founded by Nitin Shrotri and based in Bibvewadi, Pune. Our vision is simple and a little audacious: solve universal problems of comfort, happiness and health by reducing physical pain — without adding to the planet's waste burden.
The idea started with a hard number. India generates over 60 million tons of solid waste every year, and a large share of agricultural residue — rice straw, husk and leaves — is simply burnt in the open, releasing carbon and toxic particulate matter into the air we breathe. At the same time, a nationwide study we commissioned of over 1,300 respondents found that 94.66% of people experience some form of pillow-related discomfort — neck pain, back pain or body aches — and most are still sleeping on synthetic, chemical-treated fills that trap heat and never really solve the problem.
RestNTravel exists in the gap between those two facts. We convert upcycled agricultural and domestic waste — dried rice leaves, jute, coconut husk, natural fibres — into ergonomic pillows, back cushions, neck supports, quilts, mattresses and yoga mats. In our own user research, 85.6% of RestNTravel users reported real reduction in neck, back or body pain after switching. Every product is handcrafted by a network of farmers, tribal artisans, housewives, daily-wage workers and the elderly, most of whom earn ₹400–₹600 a day through the initiative — dignified, flexible income that didn't exist for them before.
The result is a small but growing circular economy: waste that would otherwise be burnt becomes income for underserved communities and pain relief for the person sleeping on it. RestNTravel's approach has been recognised as a top innovation at Startup Mahakumbh 2025, mentored by IIT Kharagpur and the Wadhwani Foundation, and is protected by a published patent (#202421083350) covering our circular manufacturing process.
Our Philosophy — “Nature Heals Best”
Founder Nitin Shrotri describes the company's guiding belief simply: nature heals best. Every RestNTravel design starts by asking whether a natural material can do the job before reaching for a synthetic one — rice leaves instead of memory foam, Ayurvedic herbs instead of synthetic fragrance, jute and cotton instead of polyester. It is a slower, more deliberate way to build products, but it is also the only way to keep the promise printed on every RestNTravel tag: better for your body, and better for the planet.
Vision & Mission
Vision: To solve universal problems — enhancing comfort, happiness and health while reducing pain.
Mission: To create 100 innovative, patent-driven products in the next three years, each one designed at the intersection of wellness, sustainability and social impact.
Why Choose RestNTravel — Core Value Pillars
Sustainable
Every product reduces agricultural waste burning and carbon emissions by upcycling natural materials that would otherwise be discarded — an estimated 6.75 metric tons of CO₂ saved per 5 tons of crop residue processed instead of burnt.
Social Impact
RestNTravel creates real livelihoods for farmers, women and rural communities across India, turning sustainable manufacturing into shared economic opportunity — artisans typically earn ₹400–₹600 a day through the initiative.
Pain Relief
Every design is ergonomically engineered to support the spine, neck and joints. In NSPL's own research, 85.6% of users reported real pain reduction after switching to a RestNTravel product.
Affordable Quality
Premium natural comfort priced for everyday India — certified organic imports cost ₹8,000–₹14,000; RestNTravel delivers the same natural-material philosophy at a fraction of the price.
The Research Behind RestNTravel
The Problem, Quantified
Across India, pillow-induced discomfort is close to universal. Of over 1,100 people surveyed nationally, neck pain was the most common complaint (reported by roughly 4 in 10), followed closely by trouble sleeping and back pain (each also around 4 in 10), with body aches reported by roughly 2 in 10. The most common reasons people are dissatisfied with their current pillow are poor neck or back support (cited by 41% of respondents) and pillows that lose their shape too quickly (38%) — both signs that most pillows sold in India today simply aren't engineered to last or to support the body properly.
Why Natural & Blended Materials Are Winning
Consumer preference data shows a decisive tilt away from purely synthetic fills: 46% of respondents preferred a mix of natural and synthetic materials, 38% preferred fully natural materials, and only 16% preferred synthetic. Regionally, West India shows the strongest pull toward natural materials (57%), while South India leans toward blended options (73%) — useful context for region-specific messaging or bundles.
Sustainability Is a Purchase Driver, Not Just a Value
61% of respondents said they are willing to pay more for products that support social and environmental causes, and over 86% consider it at least somewhat important that a pillow can be recycled, reused or composted after its life is over. Willingness to pay a premium for eco-social impact peaks among 35–54 year-olds (68–69%).
Trust Is Earned Through Proof, Not Claims
When asked what makes them believe a pillow's organic or wellness claims, 37% of respondents pointed to customer reviews and ratings, 22% to third-party certification, and only 5% to brand reputation alone. This is why RestNTravel's website leads with real testimonials, star ratings and the published patent — not brand promises.
The Market Opportunity
The Indian pillow market is valued at an estimated ₹8,148 crore today and is projected to nearly double to ~₹14,935 crore by 2030. Within that, the market for genuinely organic pillows is smaller but growing faster — expected to reach ₹1,105 crore by 2032 at a 9.38% compound annual growth rate.
