About Us
RestNTravel is the flagship sleep and wellness line from NatureTech SimpleInventions Pvt. Ltd. (NSPL), founded by Nitin Shrotri and based in Bibvewadi, Pune. Our vision is simple and a little audacious: solve universal problems of comfort, happiness and health by reducing physical pain — without adding to the planet's waste burden.
The idea started with a hard number. India generates over 60 million tons of solid waste every year, and a large share of agricultural residue — rice straw, husk and leaves — is simply burnt in the open, releasing carbon and toxic particulate matter into the air we breathe. At the same time, a nationwide study we commissioned of over 1,300 respondents found that 94.66% of people experience some form of pillow-related discomfort — neck pain, back pain or body aches — and most are still sleeping on synthetic, chemical-treated fills that trap heat and never really solve the problem.
RestNTravel exists in the gap between those two facts. We convert upcycled agricultural and domestic waste — dried rice leaves, jute, coconut husk, natural fibres — into ergonomic pillows, back cushions, neck supports, quilts, mattresses and yoga mats. In our own user research, 85.6% of RestNTravel users reported real reduction in neck, back or body pain after switching. Every product is handcrafted by a network of farmers, tribal artisans, housewives, daily-wage workers and the elderly, most of whom earn ₹400–₹600 a day through the initiative — dignified, flexible income that didn't exist for them before.
The result is a small but growing circular economy: waste that would otherwise be burnt becomes income for underserved communities and pain relief for the person sleeping on it. RestNTravel's approach has been recognised as a top innovation at Startup Mahakumbh 2025, mentored by IIT Kharagpur and the Wadhwani Foundation, and is protected by a published patent (#202421083350) covering our circular manufacturing process.
Our Philosophy — “Nature Heals Best”
Founder Nitin Shrotri describes the company's guiding belief simply: nature heals best. Every RestNTravel design starts by asking whether a natural material can do the job before reaching for a synthetic one — rice leaves instead of memory foam, Ayurvedic herbs instead of synthetic fragrance, jute and cotton instead of polyester. It is a slower, more deliberate way to build products, but it is also the only way to keep the promise printed on every RestNTravel tag: better for your body, and better for the planet.
